The Rift Valley Tree Trust's (RVTT) aim is to assist local people to plant trees. These trees in time will provide fuel, building material, a habitat for wildlife and potentially a source of income.

85% of Kenyan people rely on timber as the energy source for all their domestic requirements.
Due to the fact that the population has risen 5 fold in the last 50 years, it is no surprise that forest cover has fallen from 8% to under 1.7% over the same period.

Without trees the future looks bleak...
